Editor-in-Chief

Dr. Syeda Afroza Zerin is the Editor-in-Chief of JUSCIVITAS and the Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Uttara University. She holds an LL.B. (Honours), LL.M., and Ph.D. in Family Law from the University of Dhaka. With more than 30 years of experience in legal academia and academic leadership, she has taught at several leading universities in Bangladesh and has served in key administrative roles, including Head of Department and Associate Dean. She is an advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. A distinguished legal scholar, Dr. Zerin is the author of books on Mineral Laws and Specific Relief and has contributed book chapters and numerous research articles to national, international, and Scopus-indexed journals. Her research interests include family law, women's rights, migration, and other contemporary legal issues. She has presented scholarly papers at national and international conferences and was awarded the prestigious Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) Scholarship in 2024 by the United States Department of State, through which she studied innovative teaching methodologies at leading U.S. universities. As Editor-in-Chief of JUSCIVITAS, Dr. Zerin is committed to promoting high-quality, accessible, and impactful legal scholarship, fostering critical dialogue, and advancing excellence in legal research and public discourse.
